Meet our Wet Nose Wednesday Featured pet, Romen.

Confession of a radio DJ: now and then we have special guests on our shows that are boring. That's never the case on Wet Nose Wednesday when we get to meet a featured adoptable pet from Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter in Billings. We fall in love with these four-legged guests every week.

Romen wound up at the shelter, due to no fault of his own.

Our featured dog this week is an 8-year-old Pitbull mix named Romen. Like Roman, but with an E. Romen is not from Italy, but he's probably strong enough to pull a chariot. The handsome dog was surrendered to the shelter because his humans were relocating and unable to take him with them. Sad, right?

He's happy and playful.

Considering his age, Romen seems to have a ton of life ahead of him. He's quite energetic and playful and loved getting treats and playing with toys during his studio visit today. You know how some dogs seem to have huge smiles? Romen is one of those dogs.

Derek Wulf, Humane Outreach Coordinator at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter said Romen would likely do well in a household with other dogs and respectful children.

We're not sure how Romen feels about cats. You can check out his bio and browse all of the pets currently up for adoption at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter HERE.

Want to help choose pet names at YVAS?

Over the years we've met many great dogs (and a few cats) from the shelter and sometimes we wonder how the staff comes up with some of the interesting names they bestow upon strays. Wulf said staff usually come up with the names, and often they're a little bit silly.

If you would like to help pick names, YVAS is doing a fun promotion where you can donate $5 to the shelter and have your name idea added to their list of names. Find out more HERE.

Thank you, Shipton's Big R for supporting animal adoption in the Billings area.
