I think this is great, CVS Pharmacy has made good on a promise to stop selling tobacco products and now will be replacing cigarettes with nicotine gum.

Along with honoring their word they will be doing a little make-over including a name change.  They will be CVS Health from now on.

Makes sense to not sell tobacco products, they are a pharmacy. Even though other stores that have pharmacy’s inside their facilities sell tobacco, they don’t call themselves a straight pharmacy. This reasoning was a big part of the issue with the original name “CVS Pharmacy” but changing i to health would be even harder to coincide and sell just every healthy right?

They say this change could have a big impact on Montanans. According to the Centers for Disease Control, 22 percent of people who live in Montana are smokers, compared to the national average of 21 percent.

I for one am not a smoker so I am not effected by this, I am not really a fan of smoking but feel it is someone’s choice and some people may be a bit bummed if that is there stop for smokes otherwise I don’t see it effecting anything other then CVS Pharmacy’s business.
