A Dollar for Ice Cubes?!

Pretentiousness has hit new highs when it comes to charging for things that should definitely be free. A hoity-toity new restaurant and bar in downtown Washington, D.C. will be charging $1 for ice cubes. Yes, you heard that correctly ... $1 FOR ICE CUBES! Specialty cocktails can all be served “on the rocks” for the extra cash. I guess, this is “artisanal ice,” from a boutique ice company. According to bar manager Phil Clark, “It’s worth it. When it goes into a cocktail, it’s crystal clear. It’s purified water, so there’s no minerally taste.”
