A New, Much-Needed Shoppe is Coming to Billings March 2023

I don’t know about you, but every time I throw an empty bottle of shampoo away, I feel like a terrible earthling.  

Throwing away any plastic or aluminum makes me feel this way. But that's because I care...We all know by now that everything comes in plastic. It breaks down into tiny micro-plastics in landfills, making it dangerous for animals and water supply.

It’s an everyday item that we can’t seem to escape. But there are changes we can make to our buying habits to help Mother Earth in return. I've been wondering about a refill shop in Billings, and it’s like Katie, the business owner read my mind.

Okay here's the process: 

You refill the containers from the shop which are actually, beautifully decorated. Katie even has hand soap pumps made from old whiskey bottles that are quite wonderful. Once the location opens, I'm purchasing one.  

Will people change their buying habits?

It’s hard to start new habits, but it’s that small piece of awareness that actually is life changing. Of course, we will slip up. We are human. However, when we realize we can do small things to help the planet and our wallet, we feel empowered as a collective.

No, we can’t change other peoples' minds. But we can change our own.  

This change will set examples for our peers and family. To live sustainably. After Billings was nationally recognized for being the most sustainable city in Montana, this refill shop is needed in Magic City, so we can live up to our name even more so. 

Instead of supporting brands that truly don't care one bit about you, you can support a small, local, Montana business right here in Billings. I call that a win-win, my friend.
