A New Restaurant in the Heights? Yes, Please.
Billings Heights is a lot of things... it has great neighborhoods, Lake Elmo, nice schools, and slightly more affordable housing. However, the Heights is somewhat of a restaurant desert. The number one complaint I hear from residents in the Heights is, "When will we get some more restaurants?"
Good news, my far-east Billings friends.
There's a new Mexican restaurant open at 1414 Main Street in the Heights. It's called Burritos Don Chuy and they've been open for just a couple of weeks now. After a thorough deep cleaning, the family-owned restaurant took over the space formerly occupied by Okinawa Sushi (across the street from Pizza Hut and Bugz Bar, next to First National Pawn).

What do they serve?
Pending the release of their permanent menu, the restaurant shared their current "provisional" menu on a Facebook post about a week ago. It appears that Burritos Don Chuy specializes in made-from-scratch tacos and burritos but they also serve a variety of tasty favorites like tostadas, enchiladas, chilaquiles, fajitas, and a variety of all-day breakfast items.
Late-night tacos sound delightful.
Despite being the largest city in Montana, it still gets pretty quiet around Billings after 10 pm or so, when dining options become quite limited. Burritos Don Chuy is currently open Mon - Thursday from 9 AM to midnight. On Friday and Saturday nights, they're open until 3 AM and close at 11 pm on Sundays.
I'm always on the prowl for a great taco in Billings and this place is definitely on my short list of new places to check out. I might even make a special trip to the Heights just to give Burritos Don Chuy a shot.
