Only Two Bars in Billings Have This Classic Tavern Game?

Bored on a Friday, I browsed Reddit for some r/Billings time-wasting. Someone was asking about foosball at bars in Billings, MT. It turns out, these once-common table games are becoming tough to find in the Magic City.

Aren't foosball tables everywhere?

Perhaps I'm experiencing a Mandela Effect moment because I feel like most bars, (especially sports bars) in Billings have a foosball table. However, I don't go to bars much anymore, and I've never been good at foosball. So maybe I just haven't been paying attention. After making phone calls to every bar in Billings that I thought might have a foosball table... I could only find two.

Foosball at The Monte, Billings MT

I still refer to this downtown Billings bar as "the Monte Carlo", a tough habit to break. The popular neighborhood bar was forced to drop the Carlo part in 2015 when the Monte Carlo Casino in Monaco threatened legal action.  Like there was any chance of confusion? 🙄 I guess it's possible. Read More: Oops. You'll also find a foosball table tucked into the back of another popular downtown Billings pub, Craft Local. The Montana Avenue establishment also has a shuffleboard table, another bar game rarity nowadays.

We made some calls.

"Surely, there are more than two bars with foosball tables in Billings?", I thought, grabbing my phone. I called a handful of bars including Hooligans, Shooters, Powder Horn, the Red Door, and others. None of them have a foosball table.

Next, I reached out to Golden Route Operations, the company that handles most coin-op games (such as pool, darts, Golden Tee, etc.) in Billings. My contact was out of the office till after press time, but the representative I spoke with confirmed there are "not very many" bar foosball tables in the Billings area.
