A Golden Ticket is on the Line at Billings’ Big Sky Burger Bonanza 7/9
Hot on the heels of last weekend's Tacos and Tequila, Magic City's Best and The Billings Depot are collaborating on another awesome food event. It's the Big Sky Burger Bonanza, July 9 from Noon to 4:30 pm at the Depot. VIP ticket holders can get in an hour early, at 11 am.
Who invented the hamburger?
The answer remains murky, with a number of restaurants in the United States claiming to have invented the ground beef patty on a bun concept. History.com breaks it down, explaining that Hamburg, Germany was a popular trading market for various types of meat in the 12th century.
German immigrants are credited with introducing the United States to what we now call a hamburger in the mid to late 1800s. Burgers were served to hungry attendees of the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis, which helped spur their popularity.
Hamburgers are one of the most popular foods in the world, with American consumers gobbling down a whopping 50 billion hamburgers per year. PBS reported that the number equates to three hamburgers per week for every person in the US.
20 of Billings' best burgers will be served at the Big Sky Burger Bonanza.
