Billings' brave men and women in uniform face off July 27th at Dehler Park for the 4th annual Guns & Hoses softball game. We caught up with BDP's Sgt. Jeffrey Stovall and Chris Voller from the Billings Fire Department on our radio show this morning. They shared more details about the event.

If you're more of a reader than a listener, here are the highlights from our conversation.

The day starts with the Beat the Heat fun run.

A 5K fun run kicks off the day with a chance for Billings runners to win $500 CASH for the best overall time. Two police officers, one male, and one female will also be competing in the run, so if you ever wanted to see if you can outrun a cop, here's your opportunity.

Activities continue at 11 AM at Dehler Park.

After the fun run, come down to Dehler Park to watch the BPD and BFD battle it out on the field for the 4th annual Guns & Hoses softball game. The Billings Police Department hopes to recapture the trophy this year after suffering defeats the last two years from the Billings Fire Department.

Various police and fire vehicles and equipment will be on display, with food and drinks available, as well as an assortment of freebies for kids and adults. Both departments expressed gratitude to Faithful Disaster Restoration for sponsoring the event.

The money raised will benefit Love and Sonshine, a non-profit that provides help for pregnant teens and young women in the Billings area.
