Our dog this week has some special needs.
The three-year-old Dutch Shepherd mix seems too young to suffer from agility problems, yet this sweetheart of a pup has two conditions that will limit her activity level: hip dysplasia and bad knees. Vets at YVAS believe she was born with the condition.
Because every dog deserves a loving home, Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter has waived the adoption fee for Arya and will include a month's supply of her hip and knee medication. Arya was well-behaved, bright, and cuddly on her visit to our studios this week.
A perfect pal for a less active household?
Caregivers at YVAS determined that Arya is not a candidate for surgery and that her hip and knee pain issues can best be managed with medication. For some pet owners, a calmer, less active dog might be a blessing. Arya might be the perfect pet for you.
