Just Call Him Jerry. Gerald is Ready for Adoption in Billings
We're down to our final few Wet Nose Wednesday pets of 2024, and our featured dog this week from Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter is perhaps one of the most fun-loving dogs we've met this year.
Gerald is a 3-year-old Pitbull mix.
This charming fella weighs a solid 70+ pounds and is a great-looking dog. He's 95% sleek black, with a small patch of white fur on his chest and a couple of his paws. He sports a tiny, paint-brush white-tipped tail. That tail, by the way, wags vigorously, non-stop.
Gerald arrived at the shelter as a stray one week ago. Sadly, he did not have a microchip, and his human(s) never called or came to claim him at YVAS. He appeared well cared for, with a healthy coat and a very playful personality.
Gerald LOVES people.
Derek Wulf, Humane Outreach Coordinator at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter, said they're not sure how Gerald does with cats or other dogs, but it's quite obvious that this smiling dog loves humans.
When I sat down in our studio chair to get a few close-up pics of Gerald, he immediately attempted to climb onto my lap, planting slobbery dog kisses on my face.
Looking for a fun-loving buddy for the holidays?
Gerald - or can we call him Jerry for short? - would make an awesome companion for a person or family who is active and wants to include a four-legged pal in their adventures.
Gerald is busy and loves to play. He can sit on command, especially when the treat bag comes out, and with some basic leash training, he'd be a great buddy on your morning jog or weekend hikes.
