Billings' featured Wet Nose Wednesday Pet this week is Raider.

Looking for a faithful, smart, loving companion? Look no further than this week's adoptable pet from Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter. Raider is a five-year-old Border Collie/cow dog mix and he's ready for a forever home.

He loves to play.

Sadly, Raider arrived at the shelter as a surrender. It's clear he's been well cared for, and he demonstrated lots of vitality during his in-studio visit. Slightly shy when he first entered our new-to-him space, he quickly warmed up and was soon captivated by playtime with the dog toys in our building.

An active home would be best.

Border Collies/cow dogs love to "work", so Raider would probably do best with a human or family that has ample time for walks, fetch, or other activities. Raider loves kisses and cuddles too, but this dog thrives on activity.

Raider wants to be your forever buddy.

Lyndsay Dillon, Volunteer Coordinator at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter said that Riader gets along well with other dogs; he's been having a great time with play groups at the shelter. However, it's unclear if Raider gets along with cats. He's likely to get along well with respectful children too.

More of a cat person?

We understand not everyone can have a dog, or wants a dog, for that matter. If you're more of a cat person, Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter currently has a TON of friendly cats, ready to adopt. You can browse all of the animals up for adoption at YVAS HERE.

Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter needs weiners.

Did you know that hotdogs are a hot commodity at YVAS? It's true. The shelter uses hotdogs primarily to hide medicine for the dogs and they use hundreds of packs of hotdogs per year. You can drop off hotdog donations at the shelter during normal business hours (please don't leave them in the exterior drop bin, as they could spoil).

Thank you, Shipton's Big R for supporting animal adoption in the Billings area!
