Bozeman Police Detain Potential Mass Shooter
Here's a brilliant idea. Let's post threats to shoot up a school or business, then run to Montana. Cops will never find us there. Then carry out the threats at a later time at one's choosing.
Really? That's the plan?
Apparently, that was Justin Wayne Hill's. Living about fifty miles west of Flagstaff, Arizona, Hill made online threats of terrorism, specifically mass shootings. Posts had targeted schools, businesses and government offices on their review platforms.
I guess then he wanted to disappear and put as much distance from the southwest state as possible. Maybe he figured if the Unabomber could hide in a cabin in Montana for years, he can too. So he packed his car and high-tailed it north.
Flagstaff police were alerted of the threats last Friday the 13th and they issued a warrant for Hill's arrest. They asked the public's assistance to find him, and released a photo of the car Hill was driving with the Arizona license plate.
That single detail pegged Hill's location in Bozeman, Montana. Police there received this APB and the photo, and in little time they found the vehicle. Speculating here, but I wonder if all our officers had to do was keep an eye out for any vehicle with an Arizona plate, then just check if the number is a match.
According to Associated Press, Justin Hill was apprehended in Bozeman on Sunday the 15th, only a couple days after the alert. The Flagstaff office of the FBI is now involved.
So for all you criminals out there, if you think Montana is a sanctuary to hide out...heehee, sure, c'mon over.
