Disregard the Rumors. Popular Billings Craft Store is NOT Closing
We received an email today from one of our Townsquare Media Content Creators in Missoula regarding a rumor that Jo-Ann Fabrics was closing all of its Montana locations, including those in Billings, Great Falls, Kalispell, Missoula, Bozeman, Helena, and Butte. That rumor is NOT true.
80 years of "homemade happiness."
A rep for Jo-Ann responded to an emailed request for more information regarding potential store closures, promptly shutting down the rumors. Public Relations Manager Shauntina Lilly wrote,
In 2023, we will proudly celebrate 80 years of inspiring handmade happiness in millions of customers and more than 20,000 Team Members. While our ecommerce business continues to grow, our stores provide customers an enjoyable experience to connect with others, learn new skills and explore their creativity. Despite unfounded reports, JOANN has no plans to close its physical stores, and will continue to be the source for creators to bring their inspiration to reality.

Where did the rumor begin?
We're not sure how the rumor began about Jo-Ann Fabric shuttering stores in Montana. It could have been a random employee spreading false information, or perhaps this Yahoo News story (about ONE East Coast Jo-Ann store closing because the strip mall it's located in is being demolished). Regardless, Billings crafters can rest assured that our Jo-Ann Fabrics location on King Ave West has zero plans to close anytime in the foreseeable future.
