Free Concert for Kids. ‘M is for Music’ at Alberta Bair on Jan 14
Got a kid that is into music?
Most kids seem to enjoy music. My 6-year-old asked Santa for a "real" drumset this year, and wouldn't you know it... the jolly fat dude delivered a sparkly, purple, 7-piece, child-sized drum kit. My 11-year-old has expressed interest in learning how to play the guitar. Both of my daughters would probably love to go see an upcoming free concert at the Alberta Bair Theater called M is for Music.
No dinosaurs, unicorns, or iPads.
Children (and perhaps some adults too?) may wonder what could possibly be interesting about the symphony. M is for Music is geared towards children between kindergarten and 6th grade. The press release says,
This fun, engaging program combines music and theater to introduce youngsters to the symphony and to classical music. Narrator Amy Schendel leads the audience on a humorous adventure in music as Guest Conductor Andrew Crust leads the orchestra. The 45-minute program was written by Shauna Johannesen.
The humorous production leads children (and their families) to discover that music can be its own adventure.
The concert is free.
M is for Music is on January 14th at noon at the stunningly renovated Alberta Bair Theater. Doors open at 11 am and all seats are general admission (donations are welcome). You can find out more about the show HERE.
