Galentine’s Day: Time To Empower Your Girl Squad
Calling all my single ladies! With Valentine's Day coming up those of us who do not have a significant other tend to be a little sour over the holiday of love. No need to be a sour patch kid anymore! I bring to you Galentine's Day!
The word Galentine's may sound familiar to you if you are a fan of the show Parks and Recreation. Galentine's Day concept and name came about as an annual festival of a strong sisterhood. It was made a reality by the writing staff and a gentlemen named Aisha Muharrar. In the 16th episode of the second season of Parks and Recreation Leslie’s favorite February tradition is Galentine’s Day. They celebrate it over a brunch and excessive gift-giving.
Now the holiday is the real deal and is typically celebrated on February 13th, but they say you can observe the day any day, because it is a day all about reminding women to support each other. A whole day of empowerment, friendships, sisterhood and a reminder to always "lift each other up".

I read that 98% – the percentage of women say they have a best friend and that 1 in 4 women say their best friend knows them better than their significate other. To be honest that doesn't surprise me. We always tell our bestie everything and trust them with our life. So, this year celebrate a day of nothing but fun, love, and friendship with your squad on Galentine's Day! This one IS for the ladies!
