The celebration promises a delightful mix of nostalgia and adventure, welcoming Girl Scout lifetime members, alumnae, volunteers, and all community members. Guests can view the camp's stunning new updates, including a guided or self-guided tour of the grounds. Picture yourself exploring the new trail system, checking out the snazzy new amphitheater and cabins, and getting the scoop on future exciting projects.
One of the day's highlights is the time capsule ceremony at 2:00 pm, where cherished items like Girl Scout cookie boxes, patches, and memorabilia will be sealed away for future generations to discover.
Making memories since 1924.
Camp Castle Rock at 665 Little Basin Road, Butte, MT, was originally a mining claim before becoming the treasured Girl Scout haven it is today in 1924. A fundraising campaign in 1926 led to the construction of a permanent lodge, which was officially dedicated by Mrs. Lou Hoover in 1927. This lodge has been the heart of countless adventures, including hosting nearly 900 girls in 1958 alone!
Many fantastic updates over the years.
"Girl Scouts of Montana and Wyoming is dedicated to maintaining the historical integrity of the lodge while making some much-needed improvements to the property,” said Sally Leep, GSMW’s Chief Executive Officer. "We've added new trail systems, built an amphitheater, renovated cabins, and restored the lodge to ensure it remains a cherished spot for today's girls."
The event is 100% free and open to the public.
Plus, lunch will be provided while supplies last. Don’t forget to bring your water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray, and a hat for a perfect day in the great outdoors.
