“Hershey Kiss” is Ready to Spread Joy at Your House

Billings' featured Wet Nose Wednesday adoptable pet this week is an absolute doll of a dog. Her name is Hershey Kiss, and she's ready for adoption now at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter.

She's a twelve-year-old Pit mix, and I'm calling her a "Mini Pit" because of her small stature. In fact, when I first met her today, I thought she was a puppy because of her diminutive size. She weighs just 40 pounds and is barely 18 inches tall (at best).

Hershey Kiss was found wandering around Midtown Billings nearly a week ago. She was wearing a harness when she was picked up, but no microchip or owner ID tags were found.

This super-sweet pup also had some fairly serious medical issues.

The vet staff at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter removed a large cystic mass from her belly/mammary glands. She's still tender on her undercarriage while the incisions continue to heal.

She also had 14 bad teeth removed. Don't worry, adult dogs have 42 teeth, so she still has about 1/3rd of her chompers. She'll need soft food for a couple more weeks until her gums are fully healed.

Hershey Kiss is well beyond that hyperactive puppy stage.

She's very calm and well-behaved, and during the 10 minutes or so that she was "on-air" with me in the studio, she mainly sat at my feet and stared at me with her sweet brown eyes. It was like she was begging me to take her home.

She gets along well with other dogs, loves car rides, and would likely enjoy spending most of her day cuddled near a loving human.
