Daylis Stadium: Montana’s Beloved Arena is Looking Rough
If you grew up in Billings (or if you or any of your kids have ever played sports in Montana), there’s a good chance you’ve spent some quality time at Daylis Stadium. Maybe you were a student in the bleachers, cheering until your voice was gone.
Maybe you were out there under the lights, helmet strapped on, or pacing the sideline with a clipboard and whistle. Maybe you were a cheerleader, or a grandparent, or maybe it was your team bus that rolled into Daylis after a 6-hour ride for a tournament.

Maybe it's the cool autumn air, the buzz of the announcer, and the warmth of a hot chocolate from the concession stand, perhaps spiked with something 21 and up. Me too. This field and facility have been a Montana sports hub since 1929.
After years of use and wear, the stadium is due for a serious facelift.
That’s where Billings Public Schools and the Education Foundation for Billings Public Schools come in, launching a major fundraising campaign with a goal of $12.5 million to bring Daylis into the modern age.
So far, the community has raised more than $6.3 million. Daylis certainly holds a special place in a lot of hearts.
With Pioneer Park right next door, Daylis has always felt like more than just a sports facility. It’s a gathering place too. Kids toss footballs, hit the playground, or play disc golf up on the hill, and sled in the winter. The whole area comes alive on game nights and other events.

The upgrades will include new seating, better accessibility, modern locker rooms, and improved concessions and restrooms. You can see more images and details HERE.
I'm pleased that this much more realistic plan for Daylis is coming together, with community support. The initial proposal that was floated around for a $60 million facility was going to be a next-to-impossible sell to the public.
