Amazon Issues Recall For Items Sold In July
Last month Amazon had their Prime Day sale, and like most people, I love a good deal, so as much as I hate to admit it, I shop online more than I should.
Sadly, Amazon as of late has let third-party sellers sell on their site, and it's hard to tell if the seller is trustworthy or not thanks to reviews done by bots.

Amazon Needs To Improve Their Communication
Not only have Amazon let third parties sell on their site, it seems they've done a poor job of letting their customers know when a product sold by these companies has had a recall issued.
According to the tech blog The Verge, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Amazon failed to let customers know there was a recall for both a faulty carbon monoxide detector and children's pajamas, which were deemed to be flammable.

Amazon Was Told They Are Responsible For Recall Information
Amazon felt it wasn't their responsibility to tell purchasers of those items about the recall since they themselves didn't sell the products.
The CPSC felt otherwise and filed a lawsuit against Amazon, which resulted in a verdict on July 30th, 2024, that said they were indeed responsible for relaying recall information even if sold through a third-party seller.
This lawsuit also led to an easily accessible recall page for customers.
By checking this page, we were able to find these 11 items sold in July to Montana shoppers that have had a recall issued for them.
