Potential New Buyers Plead Their Case On Holland Lake Lodge
From KPAX
Multiple buyers are coming forward to try and purchase the Holland Lake Lodge in Condon, Montana. The current owner Christian Wohlfeil listed the property for sale in 2023 and while there was one offer that was in progress, it has now fallen through.
Some of the new potential buyers are Eric Jacobsen and Thomas Knowles. Jacobsen previously lived in Great Falls and does own a house in Whitefish while Knowles visits Montana with his family. Neither of them currently live in Montana and are actually in Park City, Utah.
While they have not made any official plans for the lodge if the purchase goes through but they did say they would want to expand and update the property. "There has to be some level of expansion. And that level of expansion, I think, can take a number of pieces," said Jacobsen.
Stewards of Swan Valley Look To Preserve Holland Lake Lodge
A Non-profit by the name Stewards of Swan Valley is concerned about the potential changes that would come with any purchase of the lodge and are currently in the process of attempting to make an offer on the property as well.
According to an official statement by the Stewards of Swan Valley they plan to preserve the land as much as they can, "Stewards of the Swan Valley is dedicated to using a ‘home-grown approach’ to protect the historic Holland Lake Lodge and ensure that all Americans can enjoy this piece of public land in the shadow of the Swan and Mission mountains. We’re doing due diligence to determine how the lodge could be purchased and managed in a manner that ensures future generations of Montanans and Americans always have access to this historic landmark on public land."
Neither party has an official agreement to purchase the lodge at this time.
