Community Rallies Together for Billings Family in Heartfelt Fundraiser

On Monday, February 3 beginning at 1 p.m., a fundraising event will be held at The Vig on Hilltop Road in Billings to support a family who has been through more than any one young family should ever have to go through.

A Journey of Joy and Tragedy

The journey of Zack and Erika Fievet toward parenthood has been a rollercoaster of emotions, filled with immense joy and heartbreaking tragedy. After getting married in August 2023, the couple embarked on their dream of starting a family. However, their path to parenthood was far from easy as they encountered unexpected challenges along the way.

A Series of Tragic Events

In December 2024, Zack, a diesel mechanic, was involved in a life-altering work accident that left him hospitalized in critical condition. As Zack fought through the pain and recovery process, Erika continued to carry their baby with unwavering determination. Unfortunately, complications arose during her pregnancy, leading to premature labor.

Arrival of Baby Brooks

On December 16, 2024, Zack and Erica’s son Brooks was born prematurely at just 23 weeks, weighing only 1 pound 8 ounces. Zack, amid his own medical struggles, summoned the strength to meet his son in the NICU, showing his unwavering love and commitment to fatherhood. However, due to his medical condition, baby Zack was soon moved to another hospital, causing logistical challenges for Erika who had to juggle being by both her husband's and son's side.

Heartbreaking Loss

Despite Brooks' remarkable resilience, he passed away on December 30, 2024, leaving Zack and Erika devastated by the unexpected loss of their son. The family had been holding onto hope for their little miracle, and Brooks' passing came as a profound blow to their hearts.
