Montana is a big state, and there are miles and miles of open spaces where cell coverage might be difficult to get.

This, of course, is important in case of a breakdown, or simply for the fact that most of us are addicted to our phones and the idea of not having coverage is enough to send anyone under the age of 30 into a panic attack. So when living in a rural state like Montana, coverage is key.

So, which of the Big 3 (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon) has the best coverage in Montana? All 3 claim to have Big Sky Country covered, however, but what do you say we take a look at coverage maps from the Federal Communications Commission and see what they say?

AT&T Coverage

First up, AT&T.  According to the FCC map of Montana, when you look at AT&T much of Montana is covered.  In fact, with the exception of the more mountainous areas and a spot in the middle to the eastern part of the state, AT&T seems to have most of the Treasure State covered.

T-Mobile Coverage

Now, let's take a look at T-Mobile. T-Mobile recently teamed up with Sprint and has a growing presence here in Big Sky Country. According to the map, it seems that while certain areas don't have as strong a signal as others, much of the state has us covered.

In reality, it all comes down to personal preference, and what kind of deals we can get. As consumers, we loved to be wowed by this offer and that offer. Throw in a freebie or two, and many folks will forget about brand loyalty and make a switch in the blink of an eye.

Now, the next question, Apple or Andriod?
