First Responders Extract Driver from Rolled Cement Truck on I90 Billings

A cement truck rolled over into the shoulder of I-90 Tuesday morning (8/30) near King Avenue Exit #446, causing traffic to back up for about a mile in the eastbound lane. Multiple agencies responded to the incident, which occurred before 8 am. The driver of the truck was reportedly trapped in the vehicle.

Billings Fire responds.

Montana Highway Patrol was seen slowing and directing traffic as the Billings Fire Department rescued the trapped driver of the cement truck when I drove by this morning at 8:45 am. Several heavy wreckers were on the scene, prepping to upright the rolled cement truck. Note: my spouse snapped these photos from the passenger seat.

Another vehicle was damaged.

As we approached the accident, we noticed a white, four-door sedan that appears to have possibly rear-ended another vehicle about a 1/2 mile west of the rolled cement truck. It is unknown at this time what caused that secondary accident. At 10:17 AM MDOT 511 indicated the accident is still being cleaned up.

Travelers can expect the following: Crash blockage with off ramp closed eastbound until further notice.
EASTBOUND OFF RAMP CLOSED. WATCH FOR EMERGENCY PERSONNEL.
