Montana Rescue Mission Christmas Toy Drive Returns To Billings
Every holiday season in Billings, many of us are fortunate enough to enjoy the holidays with family, friends, presents, and great food. However, as Billings continues to grow in size and population, it seems we have more and more people in need of a little bit of help during the holidays to make them special.
Christmas Toy Drive
This year, the Montana Rescue Mission here in Billings is coming together to help children have a memorable Christmas. MRM is hoping to accept donations in the form of new toys and gift cards, to ensure children and teenagers across our area at the MRM shelter have a brighter holiday season.
How can I donate?
MRM is now accepting donations at its location in Billings, 2902 Minnesota Avenue.
MRM is accepting donations now through December 23rd, 2023. Donations can be dropped off from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
Specifically, if you would like to donate toys to Montana Rescue Mission, please make sure they are NEW and UNWRAPPED and made for kids ages 3 to 16 years old.
The Mission of Montana Rescue Mission
If you are new to Billings and want to learn more about this organization to get involved, here's some information:
Montana Rescue Mission (MRM) began in 1948 and was incorporated in 1957 to serve the homeless population in Billings, MT and the surrounding area. Our core values are to treat all people with dignity, compassion, and respect. Our programs and services are designed to help end the cyclical nature of homelessness. We are addressing causes, such as addictions, generational poverty, lack of education, poor budgeting skills, diminished mental or physical capacity, and others as well as serving those who are struggling to overcome these barriers one person at a time.
Two out of three individuals leave our care to positive, stable housing. Our approach to service is three-fold:
- Rescue – We provide food, shelter, clothing, education, and counseling to individuals to address mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
- Recovery – We offer Instruction and referrals in life-skills programs – parenting, conflict resolution, anger management, spiritual development, education, computer skills, addiction recovery, resume preparation, and GED certification.
- Restoration – We deliver competencies through outcomes that provide our guests with a steady source of income, safe and stable housing, a realistic budget, engagement in a community-based support system such as a church family, and maintenance for their physical and mental health needs.
