A few weeks back, a coworker of mine here at Townsquare Media brought me some lunch from a local taco joint, and I fell in love with it. Funny thing is, when I moved here in 2019, I had tried the location in the heights... but simply never went back after one time. Little did I realize, there was a location pretty close to my home... and now my wallet is angry.

Taco Treat really IS a treat!

Tucked away in a strip mall off of Grand Avenue is the last remaining Taco Treat here in Billings.  It's quiet, at least when I went yesterday, but keeping pace as customers funneled through the doors around 3 PM to get their fix.

Tacos are the go-to, hence the name, but they offer enchiladas, nachos, specialty items, burritos, salads (don't you dare get a salad at Taco Treat), and even dessert.

Yesterday, I went for my go-to thanks to Lacey... 3 "The Original" Tacos, with plenty of hot sauce packets, and a side order of Tater Treats.

Now, sure. Photos do not do it justice. Unfortunately, the wizards here at Townsquare have not figured out how to offer taste-through-the-app yet... but I'm being told they are working on it.

One quote Lacey gave me was "it is my favorite, probably because the cheese they use reminds me of the Government cheese people got on low income". That's fair to say, as it certainly isn't gourmet cheese... but that is what makes it GREAT and AFFORDABLE. :)

The regular tacos come with your choice of meat, cheese, and lettuce. Simple and delicious. The Tater Treats (Which, as a former Taco Johns lover, I still call Potato Oles) are nicely seasoned, and taste even better with their hot sauce poured over them.

Overall, my whole meal came to... $12. You can't even go to Mcdonald's and get a burger for under $5 that is filling, let alone a meal for under $15. So, give Taco Treat a shot sometime! They deserve it.
