Larry Mayer did it again. Did you see the crazy photo he took of the flying horse in Billings, Montana?

Thanks to longtime Billings Gazette photographer Larry Mayer for giving us permission to use his photo of the horse that had been airlifted off of a gravel bar on the Yellowstone River.

As the Gazette reported, the Sheriff's Office Air One helicopter was piloted by Gary Blain, which made this comment on the Gazette Facebook page from Wendy Blain even cooler:

Must've been 30+ years ago when Gerhart Blain airlifted some horses stuck in shoulder high snow near Cooke City.

Speaking of Billings, Montana. Did you guys see the story about how a DEI grant for Billings, Montana had been cancelled by the federal government? This was one local news headline: "DEI policy shift leads to cancellation of Billings' $1 million federal tree grant"

I couldn't help but wonder as I saw the headline- does the City of Billings have a problem with the lack of trees? (According to the KTVQ report, they were going to target the area from City Hall and East towards the Metra) Here's the view of all of the beautiful trees in Billings we spotted while looking out West from our radio studio windows Tuesday morning.

How is planting trees in Billings somehow "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion?" Genius move by Parks & Rec by being creative...but would anyone be surprised that any of this DEI stuff is getting pulled back as our country sits $36 trillion in debt.
