I was at a game at Daylis Stadium last year and I remember the seating was in such bad shape they had to wall off entire sections that noone could sit in. And this is the one stadium for 3 high schools in Montana's largest town.

It's great to hear that the private sector is getting in the game.

Nearly $6 million has now been raised for a renovation of Daylis Stadium in Billings, including big name donors like SCHEELS and Underriner Automotive. This, according to a press release from the Bannack Group which is helping with the fundraising effort. A groundbreaking for the stadium renovation is scheduled for December 15th.

According to the release, the Board of Trustees has approved the two new major naming partners for the Campaign for Daylis Stadium. At its November 17 meeting, the Board approved SCHEELS as the official naming partner for the expanded track, and Underriner Automotive as the naming partner for the new field lighting system.

Talon Peters, SCHEELS Store Leader: "We are very thankful and don't take for granted the support SCHEELS receives from Billings and surrounding communities. We are excited to be able to give back by supporting this project that will serve as a host to many activities well into the future."

A public groundbreaking ceremony will take place on Monday, December 15 at 3:30 p.m. at Daylis Stadium as construction is slated to begin.

According to the Bannack Group press release, the Daylis Stadium redevelopment will modernize and expand the entire venue, including:

· New and reinforced grandstands

· Improved accessibility and safety features

· Modern locker rooms, concessions, and restrooms

· Enhanced lighting

· Expanded track capacity to support state-level track and field events

· Improved entrances, event flow, and overall spectator experience

Additional support from the community is still need, according to Athletic Director Mark Sulser. “SCHEELS and Underriner are leading the way, and we need others to join them. Every gift brings us closer to a stadium that matches the pride, talent, and energy of Billings students,” said Sulser.
