I was strolling down Broadway in Billings after my haircut at Rebels & Razors and I had to stop and backpedal for a few steps. That looks like a new store...I better pop in there...and man- that place was cool.

I felt like Wayne and Garth in the guitar store in Wayne's World. There were guitars EVERYWHERE, and even some ukuleles.

I can't play the guitar. I'm not that cool. But my son has been practicing around a bit.

As I walked through the store, I ended up running into running into the owner. So what's the story with this place? As I chatted with Paul Decker, he told me how he bought the store in Bozeman from his dad, and is now open in Billings too. I asked him if he knew the great radio DJ Michelle Wolfe. Of course he does.

So what does Michelle Wolfe have to say about Music Villa?

Michelle Wolfe: "The current owner is Paul Decker, the son of the original owner. Really genuine guy, and an insanely talented crew at the Bozeman store. I think I own 14 Music Villa t-shirts. No sh*t. They're just very genuine in their dealings with customers. It could be a Class A rock star who's in town for a show, or a 6 year old getting their first guitar."

Hey Michelle- I found a new t-shirt for you:

I thought I remembered reading something about it recently. Turns out, I did. Jesse James wrote a story about how a popular Bozeman music store was going to be opening up a shop in Billings- Music Villa. This is the place.

Here's some more photos from inside the store. It was also pretty cool, as a guy was playing guitar back in the acoustic section as I strolled through.
