Two Glacier High School soccer players and a coach were injured after a lightning strike at a soccer field in Kalispell. As of Tuesday morning, one of the players remained in the intensive care unit.
Our friends at KJJR Radio shared the following post from Glacier High School Principal Brad Holloway in Kalispell from Monday night:
"Dear Wolfpack Family,
I am reaching out to share with you information regarding an emergency that occurred earlier this evening at Glacier. Just before 6:00 pm this evening there was a lightning strike that occurred on the soccer field and involved two of our soccer players and one of our coaches. EMS, KPD, and members of the GHS staff responded and all three were transported to Logan Health. One of the players and the coach are responsive and remain at Logan Health for further evaluation. The other player is currently receiving care in the ICU. We are in contact with the families of all involved and will provide updates accordingly. We are thankful for the first responder professionals for their immediate response and ask you to keep all those involved in your thoughts and prayers.
Brad Holloway
Principal"
Kalispell Police Chief Jordan Venezio told KPAX-TV that Kalispell Police and Kalispell Fire responded to Glacier High School at approximately 545 Monday night.
