The Must Hear Montana Property Taxes Song, Made by AI
"Montana's my home, but these taxes don't play." A Montana man asked AI to create a country song about Montana property taxes, and it's actually VERY good. Here it is.
Kendall Cotton is the CEO of the Frontier Institute, a free market think tank here in Montana. He, like many of us Montanans, have been talking about the need for property tax reform and property tax relief in Montana.
Kendall took to X over the weekend and asked Grok, the AI platform built into Elon Musk's social media platform, to write him a country song about Montana property taxes. He then had another AI platform create the actual song.
Full song can be heard below. Here's the lyrics:
"Out here in Montana, where the Big Sky is wide- got a little piece of land my heart's pride. But every year the tax man comes knocking at my door saying I owe more than I can afford. All these property taxes- they're bleeding me dry, taking my dreams beneath that Big Sky. I'm working the land, but it's slipping away. Montana's my home, but these taxes don't play.
My daddy built this cabin with his calloused hands. Now the county's gotta lean on my stretch of land. I'm roping and riding just to make ends meet, but the tax bill's rising like dust in the heat...Oh these property taxes, they're bleeding me dry, taking my dreams beneath that big sky. I'm working the land, but it's slipping away. Montana's my home, but these taxes don't play.
They say it's for roads, schools and the public good, but it's hard to see when you're chopping firewood. Oh, my riches, my freedom, my heart's where I roam. But these taxes might take my Montana home. Oh these property taxes, they're bleeding me dry, taking my dreams beneath that big sky. I'm working the land, but it's slipping away. Montana's my home, but these taxes don't play.
So I sing to the mountains. Pray for some relief. Hold tight to my land, though it's laced with grief. In Montana I'll stay, till my final day. But these property taxes, they're stealing my way, But these property taxes, they're stealing my way."
