Does Billings Really Need City Bus Service? [Opinion]

Today we had a caller ask if I was just trying to be provocative with my comments regarding the Billings Met bus system.

Since when is it provocative when you question a tax-provided service that is losing money? It costs us millions in tax dollars for this system to remain operational. We are a town of 100.000  people. Do we really need a major bus service?

If you say yes, then let's make sure riders are covering the cost.You can't pay for only part of a cab ride or part of an airline ticket .

Some day all of these services we provide to people will bankrupt us, then we can all walk to the soup kitchens.
