Got Your Rod Ready For Fishing Day In Beautiful Montana?
Today is National Fishing Day and here in Montana it is hands down one of our favorite outdoor activities! There is just something about tossing that line in the water and hoping for the best that is unlike anything else.
Even if you are not a big fan of putting the worm on the hook or taking the fish off after you snag him it is still fun for everyone. Yet it can be frustrating when you don't catch anything. For me it is just a place to sit and relax and hope for the best. Catch and release might be your jam or maybe you are one that keeps you little buddy and guts and cleans him out to take home or toss on the grill. Either way fishing is a Montana staple of things we do.

Close to Billings there happens to be a few fishing spots that you are a must to toss a line in and snag a trout or other gilled creatures!

West Rosebud Lake
Wild Bill Lake

Here is a little History of National Fishing Day:
We all know that during prehistoric times, fishing was not seen as a recreational activity but a food source for people. It became a commercial activity during antiquity, as lots of evidenced by the discovery of those fish fossils dating all the way back 500,000 years ago. The fossils suggest that the Homo habilis and Homo erectus were actually the very first fishermen. They usually would catch the fish by hand. Very similarly, traditions, activities, and myths dating back thousands of years also indicate fishing was an extremely celebrated pastime.
