I love thrift shops.

They're kind of like indoor garage sales and you never know what you'll find. Knick-knacks, random kitchen gadgets, clothing, toys, an occasional antique... there are surprises and unique items on every aisle. I rarely buy anything at junk shops and antique stores, but I love to browse.

Have you been to Billings' newest Goodwill location?

Most of us are familiar with the West End and Heights Goodwill locations, but did you know there is a new location now open Downtown? It's in the former CVS spot, right next to Perkins on N. 27th Street (next to Dehler Park). I stopped by today to check it out. The staff was friendly and the store was clean and fully stocked with all kinds of stuff.

You can't donate everything at Goodwill.

I've seen what some people try to drop off at Goodwill, and sometimes it looks like they should have just gone to the dump instead. Please don't do this. It's really rude and kind of lazy. While Goodwill accepts just about anything when it comes to donations, there are nearly 30 items they DON'T ACCEPT. Read on to see what you should leave at home, recycle or dispose of properly, instead of "donating" it to Goodwill.
