Times are tight and it seems like every single trip to the grocery store gets more and more expensive than the last.

Thank goodness here in Billings we have a bunch of options when it comes to where to get our groceries. Wal-Mart, Target, Albertsons, Win-Co and more. Yet somehow no matter where you go you will always spend an arm and a leg getting the necessities.

According to Yahoo Life there are some incredible ways to save some money grocery shopping!

Make sure to check the cost per OUNCE . . . buy all your non-perishable items in bulk . . . meal plan based on what will spoil first . . . and in the aisles, look high and low.  The most expensive stuff is the easiest to see.

So here are a few grocery shopping tips that can help you save a little coin:

1.  Try to skip everything in the middle of the store. The middle tends to be a lot of snacks and junk filler. The produce, meats, dairy, and eggs are for the most part always all around the outside walls of the stores.

2.  Make a list and stick to it.  No impromptu trips down the sugar aisle!

3.  Shop around at all of our grocery stores until you figure out which one has the best prices. Get the ads and get the apps. Those always help!

4.  Buy those generic brands!  A lot of times you can get more for cheaper, and it'll still taste the same.

5.  Eat a big meal before you go to the store.  You'll do less impulse buying. NEVER SHOP HUNGRY!

6.  Make sure to check the cost per OUNCE.  Sale prices can be super confusing sometimes, and not always the cheapest option. All little math goes along way!

7.  Meal plan based on what will spoil the fastest.  Less food waste means more money in your pocket and less down the drain!

8.  If you can afford to, buy all your non-perishable items in BULK. Win-Co I am looking at you! Their bulk section is amazing!

9.  In the aisles, look high and low.  FUN FACT! The most expensive stuff is usually the easiest to see and reach.

10.  They say to shop your pantry first and to clean out your fridge.  A lot of times you can find something you can put together.  No better way to save money than to eat the food you already have!
