Noah Centineo to Star as Superhero He-Man in ‘Masters of the Universe’ Reboot
Noah Centineo might be your new fave superhero very soon.
The 22-year-old actor is in early talks to play He-Man in the upcoming Sony Pictures and Mattel Films’ Masters of the Universe reboot. Though nothing is confirmed right now, Variety reports Sony really wanted to find Centineo another gig after recently working with him on the new Charlie's Angels movie, which hits theatres this year.
Following the success of the Netflix rom-com To All the Boys I've Loved Before, Centineo has become Hollywood's newest heartthrob. He went on to star alongside Shannon Purser in Sierra Burgess Is a Loser, and he’ll soon be starring in a TATBILB sequel. Now, it looks like he's ready for the next chapter in his career...playing a superhero.
The film will be based on the popular Mattel toy line, which was adapted into a TV animated series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe in the '80s followed by a 1987 live-action film starring actor Dolph Lundgren as the titular character. Those of you who are familiar with He-Man, know he's blonde, super jacked, and always shirtless, so we can probably expect Centineo to beef up quite a bit if he's cast in the role. He'll also probably don a blonde wig, which TBH seems very hard to imagine right now. However, if anyone can pull it off, it's him.
There no word yet on a release date for Masters of the Universe, but fans are excited...
