YUM: Pizzapalooza 2 is Sunday at the Billings Depot

They say the average American nibbles on Thanksgiving leftovers for three days. After that, we're kind of over it. Coincidentally, three days after Turkey Day (on Sunday, December 1, 2024), is the 2nd annual Pizzapalooza event at the Billings Depot.

Pizzapalooza is all about the pie, featuring eight of Billings' best pizzerias competing for bragging rights, trophies, and glory. Last year, Pie Guys took the title. Note: Pie Guys also took top honors for their amazing wings at another fun Magic City's Best event, Wicked Wing Fling, earlier this summer. Will they be a repeat pizza champ at Pizzapalooza 2? We shall see.

Pizza is awesome. One of my favorite things about pizza is that there are so many tasty ways to enjoy an awesome pie. There is a pizza for every palate, from thin crust to deep dish, and a virtually unlimited possibility of topping combos.

I hear this all the time on social media, typically from East Coasters. And while I'll agree that Montana will never be known as home of the best pizza in the world, we do have some pretty tasty pizza options in Billings.

Chefs and pizza restaurants in Billings will be bringing their A-game to Pizzapalooza 2, serving up a variety of classic flavors, toppings, and crust styles, along with some very creative, one-of-a-kind creations.

Tickets are $25 for GA, which includes seven taste tokens. Tokens can be used for pizza or drinks, with additional tokens available for purchase if you're super thirsty or hungry. VIP tickets are $40, including early entry (11:30 am), a schwag bag, and other perks.
