Revisiting The Adventure: New ‘Goonies’ Movie In The Works

Hey You Guys!! Warner Brothers announced a "Goonies" sequel is in the works! At this time there is not very much information. The Goonies sequel is in the works, and it is very real this time! We have heard the rumors for many years but now is our time to say it loud and proud "Goonies never say die!"

Last September we got massively teased with some very false rumors a "Goonies" sequel. Warner Brothers announced that Steven Spielberg and Chris Columbus are returning to produce.  Chris wrote the screenplay for the 1985 original based on Spielberg's story.

I am still not too sure how I feel about another Goonies movies, because let's be real... not all squeals are worth the watch. Goonies has always felt like one of the movies you just don't touch because it is a classic. Yet here we are talking about them touching it.

If you don't know the story of the Goonies let me fill you in. Mikey, Data, Clark "Mouth", and of course Lawrence "Chunk" gather for a final weekend together. While rummaging through Mikey's attic, they come across a 1632 doubloon and an old treasure map purporting to lead to the treasure of legendary pirate "One-Eyed Willy", believed to be located somewhere nearby and considered by Mikey to be the original Goonie.

There isn't a director yet or any plot details.  So, it's pretty early on . . . but this time it does in fact seem extremely promising! If it sucks, I guess we can just pretend it never happened. Just like we do with most of the Land Before Time or Fast and Furious movies. We will see what is instore for the Goonies. Stay tuned.
