Rumors of New Adult Baseball League to Come to Billings?

Spring is right around the corner and that means- Billings Baseball, baby!

I love baseball, personally. I’d rather watch baseball over football any day. Catching a game whether it’s little league, high school, college, and beyond - going to games is an activity I’d like to experience in Billings. Nothing like spitting sunflower seeds into a bottle at a baseball game with the sun beating down on your back. That’s American right there.

History of Baseball  

Baseball was invented in the mid-19th century in America and the first professional baseball team was the Cincinnati Red Stockings in 1869, according to baseball hall of fame. The first regulated league was the National League which was established in 1876. There have been lots of rule changes over the years, including the size of the ball and bats.  

Today, Major League Baseball (MLB) is one of the most popular professional sports leagues in the world. Whether you root for the Yankees, Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, or any team really, we’d get along. 

Billingszites on Reddit Are Hoping for an Adult League  

Reddit had a few comments on a thread about this supposed adult baseball league and the Redditors think it would do well in this city.

I agree! I mean we have batting cages on the west side of town, and fields accompanying them. I can’t wait to watch a game at that fancy baseball field, Dehler Park on the north side of downtown Billings.

This field is the home of the Billings Mustangs, which are a part of the Pioneer League. Their first home game at Dehler Park is May 27th. See you there, with seeds in hand. 

Two Facebook Pages for Adult Baseball Leagues in Billings 

The Facebook Page “Montana Adult Men's Baseball League” hasn’t been active since 2020... questionably. The second page hasn’t been active since 2018. But why? Where are all the potential people who want to play?

I know they’re out there. We just have to find them. I’d love to see a Co-Ed league in Billings too.
