Impeding bad weather is temporarily closing Beartooth Pass at 1 PM today (9/17).

Among the Montana Department of Transportation's most viewed videos are the footage of road crews clearing iconic Beartooth Pass. Here's the latest, as workers strive for a Memorial Day Weekend opening.

The Montana Department of Transportation will reassess the conditions over the weekend (the pass will likely reopen by Monday). Beartooth Highway typically closes for the season in mid-October.

Everyone is invited, even if you don't ride motorcycles! Registration starts at 10 am Saturday at Fat Fender Freddy's in Laurel.

Conditions seem uncomfortably similar to last year's weather event that caused historic flooding in communities across south-central Montana.

Businesses along the Beartooth Highway have had a rough summer, with the road being closed during the peak tourism season. Spread some love - and dollars - and hit the Pass before it closes for the season in just a few short months.
