Thursday Night Road Rage Incident in Billings Turns Fatal
On the evening of June 6, a road rage incident in Billings, Montana, escalated into a deadly altercation, leaving one man dead. The Billings Police Department responded to an assault report at 9:12 p.m. in the 800 block of Radford Square W (near Hilltop and Main in the Heights). Upon arrival, BPD officers found a 55-year-old man receiving medical assistance from bystanders. He was later transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The initial investigation indicates that the altercation began as a road rage incident and evolved into a physical confrontation between the 55-year-old victim and a 17-year-old male. The younger individual had initially left the scene but returned shortly after the police arrived. He is currently cooperating with the investigation.
A tragic, unnecessary situation.
The BPD detectives are handling the ongoing investigation. No arrests have been made at this time. The department extended its gratitude to the Billings Fire Department, Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office, and AMR for their prompt response and assistance in managing the situation.
