One of Montana's most recognizable bands, Pinky and the Floyd, experienced a tragic loss last week when its longtime keyboardist Joe "The Business" Kirchner died in a motorcycle accident near Four Corners, west of Bozeman. His wife was a passenger and was admitted to the ICU. The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reported the couple just got married in June.

Band members, fans, friends, and family have been sharing a flood of memories and their thoughts online regarding the loss of the talented musician, with his trademark pink wig.

For many Montanans (including this author), seeing Pinky and the Floyd's cover show is the closest they've been to experiencing Pink Floyd live. Pink Floyd is a timeless band, selling millions and millions of records, crossing multiple generations of fans, and is arguably one of the biggest rock bands in history.... but they stopped touring in 1994.

Pinky and the Floyd were favorites whenever they came to Billings. Sean Lynch at Pub Station Presents said, "Just totally tragic and my thoughts go out to his family and bandmates. I didn't know him well, but a huge loss."

Billings 9/28 Pinky and the Floyd Show is canceled.

Understandably, Pinky and the Floyd's show in Billings this weekend is canceled. Reach out to 406 Events Lawn for info on what to do if you already purchased tickets.

We're incredibly saddened by this story, and like so many others, we hope everyone who knew Joe finds peace. Montana's live music community feels the loss.
