The Billings Kiwanis Club is now accepting used kids bicycles that will be given to local families in need at the Youth Bicycle Rodeo coming up this spring.

Youth bicycles needing little to no repair can be dropped off at the following locations:
Bike Shop, 1934 Grand Ave
Spoke Shop, 1911 Broadwater
Collin’s Bike Shop, 1120 16th St West

Volunteers are needed to help repair donated bicycles on May 1, 7 and 15 from 6 to 8pm at the old Salvation Army Thrift Store, 2910 S. 30th Street. Families interested in the rodeo are encouraged to pick up a Youth Bicycle Rodeo registration from May 1-16 at their school, Spoke Shop, Bike Shop, Collin’s Bike Shop, YMCA or Billings Parks & Recreation Office.

The 21st Annual Youth Bicycle Rodeo is set for Saturday, May 10 at Castle Rock Park starting at 10am. Kindergarten through 3rd grade students from Alkali Creek, Beartooth, Bench, Bitterroot, Eagle Cliffs, Independent and Sandstone Schools are invited to the rodeo for a free bicycle tune-up, bike safety instruction, refreshments and obstacle course.  A free bicycle and helmet will be given to those children in need.

With more than 45 miles of multi-use trails and over 25 miles of on-street bike lanes, Billings was ranked #37 Bike Friendly City in America from Bicycling.com in 2010.
