Prep Football Week 5 Preview - Local Teams Set for Showdowns

Week 5 of high school football kicks off with exciting matchups across the region. Broadview takes center stage as they travel to Harlowton for a 6-man football clash on Monday, Sept. 23. Broadview is riding high after a dominant win over Reed Point, where they rolled to victory by more than 30 points.

Custer-Hysham, also in Class C, comes off a commanding performance against Fromberg. They’ll look to continue their momentum as they visit Bridger for a Friday night showdown against the Scouts.

In Class B action, Shepherd aims to rebound on the road against Colstrip after a tough 6-point loss to Wolf Point. Meanwhile, Huntley Project hosts St. Labre, fresh off a nail-biting win over Baker's Spartans.

Central vs Sidney, Loco's head to Miles City.

Class A features a marquee matchup as Billings Central Catholic takes on Sidney. Central is fresh off an impressive 31-7 win over Laurel and will aim to continue their strong form. Laurel, on the other hand, seeks redemption as they travel to Miles City to face Custer County. Lockwood, looking to bounce back from a 42-7 loss to Fergus, heads to Havre hoping to climb back to .500.

Skyview vs West on Friday night.

In Class AA, Senior High heads to Great Falls after a tight 23-21 loss to cross-town rival West. Friday night promises fireworks as Skyview and West face off in an all-Billings showdown. The undefeated Bears (4-0) look to keep their record intact, while Skyview seeks to spoil their streak and boost their playoff hopes.

Cats and Griz both earn wins over the weekend.

At the collegiate level, Montana State cruised to a 52-13 win over Mercyhurst. With 256 rushing yards and 246 passing yards, the Bobcats showcased their offensive firepower. They’ll look to keep rolling as they head to Idaho State for their first Big Sky Conference game of the season.

The Grizzlies, fresh off a 46-35 victory over Western Carolina, will travel to Eastern Washington to take on the Eagles on their notorious red turf.
