Can I just shove bags of leaves in my trash can?
Yes! If you only have a few bags of tree leaves, you can certainly just chuck them in your normal garbage can. However, if you've got a pickup load of leaves, you cannot bag them and leave them on the street. They will not get picked up.
Other things to remember:
Do not rake all you're leaves into the street and hope they become someone else's problem. This is not permitted. Bag & securely tie your leaves for disposal.
Do not drop off household garbage at the leaf container sites. This includes branches, sticks, soil, etc. The containers are for leaves and leaves only.
