YouTube Banning Dangerous Challenge Videos

Normally, I'm not a fan of "banning" things, but in this case I think it's a good move.  Many of us enjoy watching people getting hurt doing silly things; that's why America's Funniest Home Videos has been on for so many years.  Some of the "challenges" happening these days are pretty outlandish and often flat out dangerous.

With some things I have the attitude "just let evolution do its job", and it will with a lot of these people, but I think YouTube taking away this massive platform will discourage people who are banking on going viral and cashing in.

The "Bird Box Challenge" is the latest on of these and while many of them are harmless "do things blindfolded" challenges, there are some who have gone too far - like the teenager in Utah who tried to drive while doing the challenge.

We may hear some first amendment people complain, but YouTube is a company. They are not obligated to let you do anything. It's definitely censorship, but it's not government censorship and there is a big difference.

Oh, and for the record, YouTube has officially given people two months to take these videos down, so if you're into watching them, you'd better hurry.
