I was born and raised in Great Falls and grew up listening to my dad on KMON AM where he was the morning guy. Dad also had a band that would practice at our house for the jobs they played almost every weekend. So, my exposure to country music was huge. At the State Fair in Great Falls in 1971, dad emceed all of the concerts, and I got to sit in the front row for Anne Murray, Glen Campbell, and the Carpenters. I started on KMON Great Falls shortly after high school then made my way to KYSS-FM in Missoula while I was in college. I worked for KGVO, Missoula, then on to KYSN-FM, East Wenatchee, Washington. I came to Billings in March of 1988 after Citadel Communications bought the 102.9 FM & AM970 signals and Cat Country was launched. I play golf and racquetball, neither very well.

This is What Enjoying ‘Windshield Therapy’ is Like On Montana’s Backroads
There are many names for what I did Sunday morning. "Go for a cruise", "Driveabout" and "Go see some scenery". I prefer to call it "Windshield therapy".
You start with no destination. And while you're driving backroads you take to turn down roads that you either haven't been on in a long time or have never been down...
Avoiding the Hurry Up and Wait Situation at the Billings Int’l Airport
One of my "issues" in life is the fact that I don't like to wait in lines. If I get to a restaurant and there's a line or even a wait, I'm eating dinner somewhere else.
But I can't always control whether I have to stand in a line. One of those times is when I fly...
Montanans Know People With Some Pretty Rare Names. Do You, Too?
For Weird Wednesday we asked listeners to call in names that they just don't hear anymore.
And we got a huge response including a man named Marion (like Charlie Russell's middle name). And a couple of men whose first names were Shirley.
There was a Martile, along Forrest...
Mark Wilson from The Breakfast Flakes Talks ‘Going the Distance’ in Montana
Today's topic is "going the distance".
I saw on Q2's website a story about a guy who was planning on a 400-mile paddleboarding trip that would take him from Gardiner to Terry. Very ambitious.
And last week there was a soldier that walked 22 miles in full gear...
