A friendly rivalry for a great cause.

"Our fearless Billings Firefighters couldn't be more thrilled to be part of this incredible event," said Chris Voller, Assistant Training Chief for the Billings Fire Department. "Supporting local organizations that go above and beyond for our beloved city is what it's all about!"

Mark your calendars for the big showdown on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2023, where the real stars of the show will be none other than the inspiring athletes from Special Olympics Montana! These incredible athletes are not just playing in the game; they're also taking center stage in this year's promotional video (below).

The heartwarming video kicks off with a flashback to last year's game, where the Billings Fire Department suffered defeat at the hands of the Billings Police Department for the second time in a row. But fear not, our hero Sparky the Fire Dog isn't giving up without a fight! With the help and encouragement from the Special Olympics Montana athletes, Sparky is back in the game and ready to swing for the fences.

This year's game is generously sponsored by Faithful Disaster Restoration, whose support has also made it possible for the PD to bring back the crowd-favorite Beat the Heat 5K family fun run and walk.

Sgt. Nate West, the charismatic public relations sergeant for the Billings Police Department, invites everyone to join in the fun: "It's going to be a day of excitement! Test your speed in the Beat the Heat 5K, then stick around to see if the PD can make it three in a row against the FD in our thrilling 3rd annual Guns & Hoses charity softball game."
