Billings Out of the Darkness Yard Sale Makes over $8,000

Support for an organization and/or cause manifests best in physical attendance and money.  Out of the Darkness for suicide prevention witnessed that support last weekend with their fundraiser.

"What a crazy busy yard sale we had!! So many people came and supported suicide prevention," Chair Nancy Barbula reported.  "We had good conversations with those who were touched by suicide. Gave out information and talked about our upcoming September 15th Walk event."

How large was this event?  With pictures from attendees, donated items covered the front yard, back yard, driveway and garage.

The conversations and shopping yielded funds for saving lives.  Over $8,000!!  That is the most I have ever heard raised in any garage/yard sale.  I imagine that not only did customers pay the full prices, they also threw a few more dollars into the till.

Volunteers also demonstrated OotD commitment with over 380 hours spent picking up item donations, setting up the sale and cleaning up afterwards.  BTW, volunteers will be needed for the Walk on September 15th.  Please visit their website at this link: Yellowstone Valley Out of the Darkness: Volunteer.

I have got to try this Brazilian grill restaurant at 316 South 24th Street West in Billings, and will write a review of my dining experience.  The importance here is the impact on Out of the Darkness.  50% of the tab on your culinary adventure on the 18th goes to OotD.  So let's all eat outside of our menu boxes on the 18th.  I look forward to a full dining room then.
