‘Timber Rose’ is Billings’ Featured Pet. Adopt at YVAS
Our Wet Nose Wednesday featured pet is Timber Rose.
Timber Rose recently arrived at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter in Billings as a pregnant stray. Her puppies are currently in YVAS's foster program, and Timber Rose is ready to adopt now.
She's a one-year-old Alaskan Malamute mix. She seems somewhat timid and is a bit on the skinny side, perhaps from recently giving birth. Timber Rose was very calm during her in-studio visit and we had to coax her to get her to eventually nibble on a dog treat.
Sad news! Last week's featured pet is still available. Read More: Love Bug 'Crickett' is Ready to Adopt in Billings
Timber Rose is a talker.
Derek Wulf, Humane Outreach Coordinator at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter said that Timber Rose can be vocal. Wulf said she was "singing" on the car ride to our office. Malamutes are ranked as one of the Top 9 most talkative dogs, according to Rover.com, and they're known to make a variety of sounds including yodeling, yipping, chirping, grumbling, snorting, and more.
Malamutes are working dogs, traditionally serving as sled dogs in the Arctic. They're powerful, strong dogs and love Montana's cold and snowy winters. The American Kennel Club says this about the breed:
...a well-behaved Mal is a joy to be with - playful, gentle, friendly, and great with kids.
Timber Rose is a very pretty dog with beautiful facial markings. She's ready to find a loving forever home.
