Netflix Just Released a Trailer for a New Unabomber Movie
Doesn't it seem like every other show or podcast released nowadays is focused on true crime? We've gotten stories on Charles Manson, Jeffrey Dahmer, the Laci Peterson story, Larry Nassar's abuse at USA Gymnastics, the JonBenet Ramsey story, Warren Jeffs, the Menendez Brothers, and a whole lot more.
It's not my cup of tea, honestly. A lot of these stories make me uneasy and sick to my stomach. If it's your cup of tea, I won't yuck your yum. A lot of people are fascinated by the horrible stories, so I get it.
Netflix's New Unabomber Movie
Last week, Netflix released a trailer for its new movie that tells the true story—or at least is inspired by true events—of Ted Kaczynski, a.k.a. the Unabomber.
"Inspired by true events, UNABOMBER follows Ted Kaczynski’s (Jacob Tremblay) transformation from Harvard prodigy into the infamous Unabomber. Subjected to controversial psychological experiments by Professor Henry Murray (Russell Crowe), Kaczynski’s troubled past resurfaces decades later when his manhunt, led by FBI agent Joanne Miller (Shailene Woodley), brings to light the chilling consequences of ambition and isolation." - Unabomber description via Netflix's YouTube channel

The Unabomber's Montana Connection
Kaczynski was arrested on April 3, 1996, in his cabin near Lincoln, Montana. The cabin still stands, just not in Lincoln. The Unabomber used his cabin in Montana as a home base to plan his domestic terror attacks for nearly 20 years.
The cabin was reconstructed at FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C., in 2020.
